Terminal 2 map Sydney Airport
With more than forty million visitors expected to visit the Sydney Airport yearly, the establishment consists of three different terminals to accommodate for all of these passengers.
These terminals do not only exist to alleviate the traffic of passengers, but they also serve to organize passengers based on their destinations. In other words, one terminal serves international flights (the first terminal), while the other two serve domestic flights.
Kingsford Smith Airport Terminal 2
As stated above, Terminal 2 Sydney Airport serves incoming and outgoing domestic flights. The layout of the terminal is as follows:
The ground level welcomes arriving passengers, gives them access to baggage claim and passport control, and connects them with the parking lots and the ground transportation zone.
The first and second floor, on the other hand, serve departing passengers, giving them access to check-in counters and gates.
It is important to mention that the lounges and the amenities are available at each of the floors.
Facilities at the Terminal 2 Sydney Airport
There are many facilities at the Kingsford Smith Airport Terminal 2 that are aimed at not only making your trip through the airport run smoother, but also at giving you a good and enjoyable time.
Some of the services that are aimed at facilitating your journey at the airport include the Lost and Found Office, the available phones, the wheelchair renting stations, the ATMs and currency exchange offices, and the luggage storage facilities.
The Lost and Found Office is located not far from gate number fifty-five. It operates every day of the week, from six o’clock in the morning, and until eleven o’clock at night.
There are also two pharmacies at the terminal, both of which are located at the second floor.
Note that free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the whole airport, and it is accessible for all passengers.
Airlines at Terminal 2 Sydney Domestic
The major terminal through which Virgin Australia runs its flights is Terminal 2, where the airline has a significant hub. This explains why it is sometimes referred to as Virgin Australia Sydney Airport Terminal 2.
Other airlines operating their flights at T2 are:
- Flypelican
- Japan Airlines (JAL)
- Jetstar
Traveling between terminals
Inter-terminal transportation is facilitated by many means of transportation. Passengers have the option to walk between terminals, take the airport bus or the public bus, board the Link Train, or even hop in a taxi.
Generally speaking, however, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are situated very close to one another, making walking between them a very plausible and preferred option. The narrative changes when traveling between either of these terminals to the first one, as it is slightly farther away. The good news, though, is that you can still choose any of the above-mentioned options to travel to and from the first terminal.
