Terminal 1 map Sydney Airport
With the Sydney Airport being the busiest in its region, it makes sense that the airport is divided into more than one terminal to accommodate for the great number of passengers who choose to fly to or from the SYD yearly.
The distribution of passengers into three different terminals allows for less traffic at each terminal and at each point through the journey across the airport. The first terminal operates international flights mostly, while the other two mostly operate domestic flights, giving more logic and sense to the distribution of visitors.
International Terminal 1 Sydney Airport
Although this terminal mostly handles the international flights coming into and flying out of Sydney Airport, it also operates a handful of domestic flights.
All the arrivals to Terminal 1 are greeted at the first level, where they also have access to passport control, baggage claim, and then on to the parking lots and the ground transportation zone.
Meanwhile the departing passengers should be heading to the second level, where they will find the check-in counters and the flight gates.
The third level is dedicated mainly to lounges and offices and there has a quieter overall environment.
Facilities at the T1 Sydney Airport
The facilities at this terminal vary greatly! You can find anything from pharmacies and internet kiosks to luxury lounges and great stores.
A pharmacy can be found at both the first and the second levels of the terminal, a prayer room can be found on the third level, and there are also luggage storage units around the terminal.
The Lost and Found office is situated on the third level and it operates every day, including weekends. The office does operate at slightly different times on weekends, however, so you are better off giving them a call if the need arises. The office can be contacted at 133 793.
The International Terminal 1 Sydney Airport also has an exciting observation deck and a children’s cinema zone! These attractions can keep you and your little ones occupied and happy while you wait for your flights!
Other facilities include the host of lounges at this terminal the numerous restaurants, and the great shopping options that range from high-end stores to the Duty-Free stores, and everything in between!

Traveling between terminals
There are a plethora of options to choose from when deciding to travel between terminals at the SYD like the Link Train and the T-Bus, to name a few. However, you must keep in mind that T1 Sydney Airport is located slightly further from the rest of the two terminals, and it therefore requires longer traveling time.
This should be taken into consideration when planning your journey through the SYD.
